Europe is in difficult times: the possible Brexit and the rise of right-wing populism get a lot of attention. In this context the EPP group and the European ideas network organized between 29th June and 2nd July a summer university in Split with more than 250 participants. I contributed in a panel on populism within and after the Brexit. My thesis is that the Brexit would offer also some chances. Now it could be clear for a wider public what a Non-Europe would cost. The “Leave” is now a realistic scenario within the EU. The audience raised its concerns about how to promote Europe better and develop strategies against populism.
